SMS Terms & Conditions
These terms describe the text message (SMS) program operated by Usher Law Group, P.C. for clients and prospective clients. They work alongside our Privacy Policy.
Effective date: November 3, 2026
Program description
Usher Law Group, P.C. sends text messages about legal matters we are handling or have been asked to handle. Messages may include appointment confirmations and reminders, court hearing and interview reminders, payment reminders, requests for supplemental information or documents, case status updates, replies to your questions, and other administrative messages about your matter. This is not a marketing or promotional program.
Who sends the messages
Messages are sent by an automated messaging system at the direction of the Firm's client service department, and may be sent using automated technology. Your replies go to that system and are also monitored by our client service staff.
How to join
You may opt in by ticking the SMS consent box on a form on this website, by asking our office to text you, or by giving written consent on a firm form. The box is never ticked for you, and we do not add existing contacts to text messaging without consent.
Consent is voluntary
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or obtaining legal services. You can decline and still work with the Firm; we will use phone, email or mail instead.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies with the nature of your legal matter and your communications with the Firm. There is no fixed number of messages.
Cost
We do not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop all text messages from the Firm. You will receive one confirmation message. Our client service staff also watch for replies asking us to stop, so you do not have to find the exact word. Stopping text messages does not end an attorney-client relationship, and we will continue to reach you by other means.
How to get help
Reply HELP for assistance, or call (718) 484-7510 during office hours, or email info@usherlegal.com.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Mobile telephone numbers and SMS consent information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell them. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.
Confidential information
Please do not send sensitive personal information or confidential case documents by text message. Text messaging is convenient for scheduling and reminders, but our office will tell you the appropriate way to send documents and sensitive details.
