Mike Usher, Esq. is the founder and principle member of Usher Law Group P.C. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College (CUNY) where he received a Bachelor's in Political Science. After graduating college, Mike worked as the head of purchasing for an international furniture import and distribution company. Mike went on to go to Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida.
During Law School Mike was a Senator for the Student Bar Association, as well as a competing member for the National Champion St. Thomas University Mock Trial Team where he earned high honors. While in law school, he was also a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Amy Steele Donner in Dade County, Florida.
After taking the New York and New Jersey Bar Examination, Mike began working for Smotritsky Law Group PLLC. in Brooklyn, New York where he focused primarily on Immigration Law, Criminal Law, Employment Law and Consumer Protection Law. During his tenure at Smotritsky Law Group, Mr. Usher developed the Criminal Division of the firm. He also took and passed the Florida Bar Examination.
After three years at Smotritsky Law Group, Mike decided to start his own law firm. Since inception, Usher Law Group P.C. has been handling cases ranging from deportation defense, criminal defense, foreclosure, child custody, divorce matters, consumer protection, business compliance, employment law, landlord tenant law and real estate matters.
He is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Associations, American Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association, New York State Bar Association, and New Jersey State Bar Association. Krista L. Thompson is an attorney with extensive experience in family law, intellectual property law, business development and immigration law.
Mrs. Thompson is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey and Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens, Florida. While at Saint Thomas University Ms. Thompson achieved Deans List honors.
Ms. Thompson has gained experience in multiple practice areas including immigration law, family law and intellectual property law. Ms. Thompson connects directly with clients on a very personal level to make sure that each client’s needs are uniquely addressed and handled with great care. Ms. Thompson always endeavors to put the client's needs first as they are of supreme importance to her. Stanley Smotritsky, Esq., specializes in immigration and bankruptcy law. Mr. Smotritsky is a graduate of Rutgers University and Brooklyn Law School. He also handles Debt Collector Harrassment and Personal Injury.
Mr. Smotritsky began his legal career at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office where he worked as a Community Associate in the Early Case Assessment Bureau while attending law school. After graduating from Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Smotritsky became an Associate with a prominent New Jersey Immigration Law Firm - The Law Offices of Isabella Mayzel. As an Associate with Isabella Mayzel's Office, Mr. Smotritsky learned all aspects and intricacies of Immigration Law. He represented clients in Immigration Courts and before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. After resigning from the Law Offices of Isabella Mayzel, Mr. Smotritsky worked as a Contract Attorney for Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen, & Loewy, LLP . the largest and the most prestigious Immigration Firm in the U.S. In that position, Mr. Smotritsky concentrated on the Employment-based area of Immigration Law. He assisted multinational managers, executives, and professionals in obtaining work visas and permanent residency in the United States. Since 2007, Mr. Smotritsky founded and spearheads the Smotritsky Law Group.
